How we publish

Editorial standards

The process behind Lawyers’ Money briefings, including sourcing, authorship, review dates, corrections and the boundary between education and advice.

Purpose and scope

Lawyers’ Money publishes general financial education for senior UK lawyers. It does not conduct a personal fact-find, recommend products or provide regulated financial or individual tax advice.

Authorship

Each briefing names its author. Steven Calvert holds the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning together with AF5, CF6 and R07 qualifications and has approximately 15 years’ experience in UK financial services. Qualifications support the editorial process; they do not change the regulatory status of the content.

Sources

Time-sensitive claims are checked against primary or public-service sources such as HMRC, the FCA, FSCS and MoneyHelper. Every substantive briefing carries a visible source list and review date. We distinguish confirmed rules from planning frameworks and avoid presenting illustrations as personal recommendations.

Review process

Content is reviewed when a relevant rule changes and at least annually while it remains prominent. Where a named specialist tax or legal reviewer has contributed, that person and their role will be disclosed on the page. We do not imply external review before it has happened.

Corrections

Material corrections are made promptly and the page’s modification date is updated. A significant change will be described in the review note so readers can see what changed.

Commercial independence

Potential adviser fees do not determine editorial conclusions or search rankings within the site. Commercial introduction arrangements are disclosed separately, and a reader sees the named adviser firm before giving consent to share contact details.
